In one of her interviews, she said she wrote it after reading some hate comments about her one day. The fact that she wrote this song not in a 'romantic' way but for seeking love, validation, and acceptance from the fans and haters, basically from everyone, showing her most vulnerable side as a normal human being. The depth this girl has 🥹 i respect her more as a human and as a true great artist! We love you our number one girl! 🩷

Rosé's vocal isn’t joke

the suzy and rosé threadd lmaaao

It is my understanding that this song was written about doom scrolling hate coments all night. And her wanting to get the comments in the lyrics so she could give it up😢❤

To the girl who chose to share some rumor about her dating Suzy, pls hold back on sharing rumors. This song alone stems from her doom scrolling and seeing all the rumors and hate she gets from people. I think it should teach us to learn to hold back from saying things that are unnecessary. From Rosé’s interviews you can tell she gets sensitive to rumors that aren’t proved by her. Whether or not it’s a joke, at some point some jokes cross a line. Rosé even admitted she didn’t like the Rosé curse joke. Let’s be considerate and not spread more rumors and respect the artist’s music. Loved the other two commenter’s reactions tho, really respected their intake on the song.

Rosé said in an interview that this song is not about an relationship with anyone: it’s about her not being able to sleep sometimes because of all of the hate comments that she gets online and all she wants is to be accepted and loved but to me this song really hits me hard because of that. Remember people that these idols are people also that have feelings and to constantly be told hateful things is just not ok. So idols have gone very drastic ways to see the pain. 😂

Rose is the most beautiful and gorgeous performer in Kpop she's got beauty and talent she slayed it ❤❤❤❤

Beautiful song that was beautifully sung by Rosé ♥️

I've listened to this song over a thousand times, and her voice drives me crazy. Rose is already at the level of a number one artist in the world, no longer just Korean or Asian. She's already a superstar! She's an angel!!!❤❤❤

I’m screaming @ the part where she brings up Suzy 😭😭😭😭😭 girl-

U should listen to her live version to

Stan talent stan rosé❤

I was sobbing because her beautiful voice and the lyrics..

Rose❤❤❤

I love Rosie's voice so much. This is such a beautiful song. I love she came out with a ballad for her second song.
Don't need a crazy M/V, all we need is her voice and beautiful face. We love you Rosie!!!

The girl at the beginning who said that Rosie looked like an angel. I just want say that you all are beautiful angels too.

The song can be interpreted differently by the listener. FOR ROSÉ, this song exposes her DEEP yearning to be loved & accepted, pleading with the listener to tell her all the things she longs to hear.

The song starts with Rosé seemingly addressing a romantic interest, asking her partner to reassure her in the relationship:
- "🎶Tell me that I'm special / Tell me I look pretty / Tell me I'm a little angel / Sweetheart of your city".
But the lyrics aren’t simply romantic. On the 2nd verse, Rosé seems to confess she ALSO needs validation in her CAREER, be it from fans or from within the music industry:
- “🎶Tell me I'M that new thing / Tell me that I'M relevant🎶.”

However, on the next chorus, Rosé tells her partner that she would throw everything else away for their affection:
- "🎶I'd do anything to make you want me / I'd give it all up if you told me / That I'd be / The #1 girl in YOUR eyes🎶".

Rosé said that the toxic relationship she was in, isolated her. He did & said things that made her think she needed to distance herself from the friends HE didn't like, in order to keep HIM happy. Around this time, their world tour was in full swing & the Rosé/Lisa feud started. Rosé started appearing in various backstage pictures DISTANT from the other members & looking worn out & sad. Then we saw her heartbreakingly crying mid performance, & breaking down during her solo. We all assumed she was affected by the tiresome world tour & the girls were simply having a normal quarrels. Because we never thought of Rosé being in a relationship (🤔maybe because of the "Rosé hates men" none sense)
But it took about 2 months after THAT breakdown, for her to start being her normal happy-go-lucky Rosie on stage.

You can hear the sadness, desperation, pain, & A LOT of shame in her voice & words.
The listener can also take it as their own thoughts, because isn't that what we ALL secretly look for & like hearing. We all want validation, & we all seek confirmation that we are special to SOMEONE & that WE MATTER.
