I interpreted the corruption as Chorus's presumably terminal illness. Slowly spreading and taking hold of her life. As the illness progresses, Chorus feels more lethargic and closer to giving up. Drab can't let it happen. Drab can't lose Chorus and refuses to let Chorus give up on hunting the entity, the solution, another reason to stay alive another day. The book excerpt mentioned repression, which is a theme I believe is at play. Chorus deleting the "i miss you" message, Drab cracking jokes and trying to remain unaffected by her friend's condition, every I love you being filtered, the corruption invisible from the outside, and Minecraft, the only escape from reality throughout the course of Chorus' isolation and sickness, was not safe from it either. The sound, the corruption rearranging, was Chorus' illness worsening and taking a new shape. The entity Drab was looking for? Hope and a cure. Which is why the entity wasn't real. Which is why Drab said hunt and not kill, find and not kill. It's why every time the sound comes, Chorus cowers and Drab pulls out a diamond sword; it's why Chorus didn't want to find the entity anymore; she realizes her situation is hopeless. She likely knows there isn't a cure/entity, and she knows Drab was still looking for one even after killing her. Chorus needed to warn Drab that it was too late, but before a word is spoken, the corruption, her sickness, consumes her. Where she ultimately dies. Drab, so obsessed with this hope, with the entity, with a cure, was shattered by her death and ran off, hoping to find a cure beyond the hills, beyond Minecraft, beyond a home, outside reality because she simply can't cope.

This is a good vid I liked it but I have a tip maybe you'd like to follow.
When doing these type of arg vids don't try to jump the gun straight to the stuff it has to be something you look back on then decode after a clue that something needed to be decoded cuz how would you know there was a message off rip? Remember to your character this ur first time watching but either way I like and I'll sub if you make anymore!
