Numerous Vintage Tools get Restored
As You Were! Restorations

Lots of wooden handle and other tools from the folding toolbox, the Snap-on toolbox, or picked up from antique stores over the years.
For those of us from the military, the "as you were" command could mean a couple of things...but here, it simply means getting a few old objects restored to their former glory (or at least close).

Really nice restoration on all of them. Thanks for sharing your expertise

What a joy to get your hands on such stunning old tools! For me, the tung oil and restore a finish did the best job as the wood looked like it could do with a good soaking. Great job on the restoration

Tung oil finish, hands down for me. Nice job, always fun to bring old tools back from the brink of total loss. Thanks for the video, enjoyed watching.

Based on the shape of the handle and the "S" logo, that extra-long screwdriver could be an H.D. Smith "Perfect Handle" tool, which would probably put it at somewhere between 1900 and 1930, vintage-wise. A longer restored one like that usually goes for about $50 or so - there are also some that have "wings," which are just little metal side-extensions, and since there were fewer of those made I guess they're worth more. (Mostly to collectors, of course.) As for the finishes, they all look fine, though I always use Restor-a-Finish because it's easy to work with, and it's just a wipe-on so you can leave the patina mostly in place if you (or potential buyers) want. Anyway, nice work!

Looks like a Buffalo screwdriver in the mix. Mine are about 55+/- years old. Hard to think of them as vintage, but they are getting old.

OK, I have to comment.
The backgrounds on most all of your videos are dark colored. So you must use a high contrast color for your font in your notations. The blue is just not cutting it. White or a very light gray would be the better choice. And to multiply this issue, try watching this on a cell phone! Between the non-contrasting font and it's small size I just feel like i want to skip your videos. Don't need the aggravation.
