MBs, YJs, CJs, TJs.... They all never cease to amaze me. Heck.... After WW2. The farmers just considered them as tractors. They could plow fields with them.

This was great! I have two Willys MBs one stock one with 35s. I get threw most mud holes that vehicles with 40s can’t get threw. Good work guys (and gal from local village)!

I once owned a 1966 Willys/Kaiser jeep. Still wish I had it. The biggest reason in my opinion that you go through the mud so well is the light weight of the willies. When I had my 66 jeep and it was rusted through an extremely lightweight, I restore the drivetrain putting lockers front and rear and huge tires and it would go through anything

Yesterday, August 28, 2025, I was crossing a stream in my M38A1C jeep. My jeep was half submerged in water, leaning about 20 degrees to one side. If I had gone two or three feet further, there was a chance that the jeep would have sunk. I quickly reversed the jeep to save myself, I was already driving it in 4×4 high gear.

Those old m38's/cj2's flatfenders are still some of the best scouting vehicles.
Later 4x4's were largely intended for daily driving.
(Yes, also the series 2 Landrovers or classic landcruisers and Jeep cj5's)
Those old small willys have more in common with the modern ATV's and side-by-side's than with modern Jeeps.
And I mean that in a good way.

Wow, that was intense mud wheelin'! Amazing you got through all that. I wonder how the Willy's would do with the stick wheels and tires. You see them do unbelievable stuff in Moab totally stock. Guess those old Jeeps were a pretty nice gift to Russia in WW2!

A stock Jeep YJ wrangler has sway bars in the the front the limit articulation if not disconnected.
