This bish gonna be 150 yrs old and still cooler than anybody else . Forever THEE IT girl

Man, I miss video stores and the world before internet ruined everything.

Chloe is THE eternal it girl.  I couldn’t think of a better person to have on this series! Also i 100% need to check out this place the next time i am in the city.

she is just so effortlessly cool

Kim’s is the best video store ever. Thanks for resurrecting it Alamo. I must go!

This is so cool. Going to Kim’s on st marks as a teenager pointed my entire life in the right direction. Thanks for keeping the memory alive!

Kim's Video was fundamentally part of the formula for my survival during my New York City years!!! An interesting personal memory: i was 19 years old and residing in NYC when I got approved for my very first Credit card 💳. My total limit on the card was $750. When I contenplated where I wanted to make my first Credit card 💳 purchase ever in Life, I went to Kim's Video on St. Mark's Place and bought the Led Zeppelin greatest hits double CD 💿 set for $27. I told the guy at the Kim's Video counter ringing me up about it being my first time in Life using a Credit card 💳 and he said, "Congratulations, you are OFFICIALLY in Debt." That  memory will endure within the confines of my mind forever! 💿  🎬 🎞 💿

Chloe will never not be so cool

the roxy was my childhood!!

I loved Kim’s! I used to visit all the time when it was on St. Marks. I will however say however that I was once charged $75- for a limited edition copy of Eraserhead that was (as I found out after) available on Lynch’s website for $25-

spent days on end at that place browsing through the vinyl section... nobody's talking about that thou. Real gems

Why  do I love this woman so much, but have not seen many of her films besides a few,?

Oh man- I remember as a teenager in the 90s browsing movies/records in Mondo Kims (I also remember one of the first DVDs I ever purchased was from there- the original Ghost in the Shell). After college I was working a retail job on 8th street and the one day off my BF at the time and I had was Tuesdays- so we had a ritual where we would pick up 2-3 movies (or tv shows) to rent at Kims, then get falafels and cheap wine and tuck in. We didn't have much money then.
At any rate, I'm so glad they saved the collection and that it's back in NYC. In my life coming full circle, I also host trivia at Press Room at the Alamo in lower Manhattan on Wednesdays and I host movie parties, speed dating, and other esoteric events there.

Precious Chloe Sevigny! 🥰Reminds me of a “fancier” Vulcan Video, which like Alamo Drafthouse, also originated in Texas/ Austin!

Used to go Kim’s when I lived in New York, love this

Beaver Trilogy mentioned letsgooooooooo

i used to go to the kim's on St Marks Pl. It was the best film school on earth ! not to mention a great record / Cd section

She's cool cause she's real.

Her laugh 😂

Cool series. My favorite part of going to the Kim's Bleecker location was getting sh*t from the cashiers for paying with a $20 like that made you "elitist". I would always throw down a 20 dollar bill just to see if I could get an eyeroll at minimum.

Big fan of the Manhattan Alamo and the Kims collection they have... brings back allot of memories just eyeballing the weirdness. Hopefully the out of print stuff is getting digitized and preserved by someone. World wouldn't be the same without Turkish E.T. and other gems.
