Is no one going to mention his piano playing . He plays a mean jazz piano.

His father was a doctor and also competed at two Olympics, with a Gold medal in 48. He represented Eton Cambridge and Great Britain in Rowing

Also, they never mention Jeeves and Wooster, always just Blackadder

Americans may not have been ready for it but the rest of the English speaking world knew him so well all that astonished us was seeing him play a Yank doctor.

I have adored this man since I first discovered him in Sense and sensibility, a great film with marvellous actors, where (to me) he completely stole the show with barely any lines. Anyone who's seen it could not be surprised about his brilliant Dr House. The guy at the Vet from A bit of Fry and Laurie was also an early sign.

Has no one else heard of ‘A little bit of Fry & Laurie’? They did so much together. Also, Emma was Hugh’s girlfriend before she was with Kenneth Branagh

House M.D. was a brilliant series for its time and still holds its own today.

I think, it's his humour that they're not ready for.

Hugh Laurie is a freak like John Cleese! Amazing actors with a gigantic range. I would have paid anything to see Laurie and Cleese in the same room. My gawd, that would have been super hilarious.

Fry and Laurie was years worked together along with Emma Thompson, Robbie Coltrane, Siobhan Redmond and Ben Elton on a show called 'Alfresco' a few years before any Blackadder work. laurie played Prince Ludwig in one episode of the second series, and Fry played Wellington in one episode of the 3rd.

Oh please. Anyone who grew up with the Pythons, whose parents grew up with the Goons would get his humour. We're Brits.

obviously hugh's claim that he's not remembering anything is just humour, british style.. as it is also the fact that he is in a much higher league than clooney.. sorry, George, he simply is..
