Man its been fun watching your videos. It always shocks me when I find people that can test the exact products i debate on getting. Keep up the great work.

I literally used mine 2 weeks ago running 8 6ah knockoff batteries to use my CPAP in my RV for boondocking. It ran my CPAP for 3 nights. Loved it!

@shanewalker896 1 month ago

They have a sale right now with 4 6ah batteries for 699$. The 4 batts alone are 159$ a piece so seems like a good deal. Especially if you already have some other ryobi batteries.

I bought this one and the 40v version for power outages. I run these at night and top them off with a gas generator during the day.

Paid 300 for mine used, but it still had everything, including the box. I don't trust using knockoff batteries and therefore circuitry in the thing. If it get's screwed up I'm out of luck, and I have already had to have my 40v version replaced. Ryobi was awesome and honored the warranty on that registered machine quickly and efficiently.

Thanks for this. Just bought this thing. Have tons of batteries, but also bought 4 of the 8ah HO Ryobi. Time will tell.

I wonder if it’ll work using a Makita battery with the Ryobi battery adapter from Amazon. If so, will the adapter ruin the power station long term use?

@neilmayo6868 1 year ago

Thanks for the review, just got one at a yard sale for $200, wouldn't have got one at full price though. But like you said, great to have if you have a lot of batteries.

Be very careful how you charge with that. I have 2. Both no longer recognize anything plugged into the charge port. I plugged a decently nice Anker usb c charger into it as it claimed 60w. The charge port on the inverter doesn't have a resistor to notify the "smart" chargers to begin charging. However, my Anker started anyway. It blew the charge board on the inverter. The rest of it functions properly. Just an FYI that it's VERY sensitive on input.

I was surprised you didn't test the solar input USB feature

Ryobi's power station is like an old Ford pickup truck, while the EcoFlow generators are like a Porsche sports car. LOL p.s. I think the EcoFlow D2's are now under $400.00.

Good to see this test. I just got one of these units, my local Depot had one on Clearance for $325!!! (Literally on vacation and had my daughter run over to pick it up). I have several Ryobi batteries, AND I have some adaptors for my Dewalt and Kobalt battery converters for Ryobi, so in theory, if they work OK in this unit, I should have a TON of power available. I also happen to have a similar ego unit, but Ego batteries are so damn expensive, I've only got about 6 of their 2.5 amp and a single 5amp batteries, so I would be much more limited with that unit (although we are talking about their batteries being 56v vs 18v, so an EGO 2.5amp would be more similar to a 7.5amp Ryobi, but I just can't justify buying a bunch more of those batteries, as I only use them for the power station, a weed trimmer and a blower to dry my car, so I'm not using the batteries or have need for a bunch of those batteries, while I also do have a TON of DeWalt and Ryobi and Kobalt tools). Figures crossed that the adaptor works in this unit

I got mine a few months back on a home depot deal of the day. It came with 4 of the hp 6 ah batteries! Ive already tested it powering a small to mid size fridge, upright freezer and a fan simultaneously. I think the hot swap of the batteries is the best feature. I currently have 4 x 6ah and 4 x 4 ah loaded. And when those get drained i have another 8 x 4 ah to hot swap in

The thing the Ryobi has that a regular power stations don't is, the batteries can be hot swapped with uninterrupted power. The bad thing about the Ryobi is that it isn't pass thru. You can't use it to power things while it's charging the batteries.. I want one of these badly but Ryobi is out to lunch with their pricing on this one. It currently sells here in Canada for over $1K tool only. I've got lots of batteries but just can't make myself spend that much for what it is

I think this thing is really cool but in reality, its not very practical for most people. If you have the batteries already, its a nice thing to have around for emergency use or if you were using it to run things like saws or other tools in places with no AC outlets available. However, if you dont have a bunch of Ryobi batteries lying around and are considering this instead of comparable Anker/Ecoflow/Bluetti etc power bank....this is not for you. Traditional powerbanks from those mentioned above can charge WAY faster, independently, without having to take batteries out and throw them in their native chargers, they have the better and longer lasting Li Iron Phosphate batteries, and they can run devices for a longer amount of time. But in the end I think this is really cool, this is something I want more than it is a need, as i already have power stations that can do what this does, better and for longer. But I give props to Ryobi for how diverse their One+ line is, it really opens up the possibilities of what you can do with simple tool batteries. Great review, as always. If these things were half the price they are now, I would probably buy it. But for the $500-700 that this costs, there are a multitude of other options that are far superior to this unit.

I've purchased 18 Chinese made Dewalt replacement batteries from 9 different Chinese dealers on Temu (10) and Amazon (8). There were 4 12V 12Ah (Temu) after charging and lasted 2 hours with an adapter under an eleven watt aquarium filter load...none of the rest of the various amp hour batteries lasted more than 2 hours after being charged. Chinese knockoffs should be banned, their nothing but a ripoff!
