Little Jacob has to be the most goated friend in the GTA series, dude had Niko's back the entire game

This guys jokes and references are so elite😭

i find it funny that nico is always working for drug dealers but never uses  drugs of most kind through the story line

It's insane to me that there are people that haven't had the chance to play GTA 4. I REALLY hope GTA 4 is actually getting ported to PS5. I want to experience this game again, but now as an adult.

I think a lot of Gen Zers who had stricter parents regarding game age ratings have only just now gotten the chance to check out GTA 4. I got the game on Steam earlier this year, and had never played through a GTA game at that point. Mechanically, I was impressed by the driving, fairly easy ability to switch between weapons, and the animations of the characters in response to my actions. I felt more immersed in this game world than I have in some far more recent games. The story mixed satire and drama wonderfully, Niko's conflict feels believable and the dialogue is expertly written. This game was an unbelievable amount of fun and I think after playing through the base game and both DLCs, I have it firmly in my top 5 games I have ever played. The fact that a 2008 game with a far more popular sequel is still drawing thousands of players daily is a testament to its greatness.

The reason the npc cars keep switching lanes on the bridges is bc they're programmed to get away from the subways, but there's this glitch where the npcs "think" they have to get away from the subways passing under the bridges.

8:02 first in my bloodline to hear this sentence

Something about gta 4s driving makes me so happy and nostalgic i hope gta 6 has something like it maybe not as heavy but i dont want it as snappy as gta 5

Nico screaming for Roman during the big rescue mission is one of the most nostalgic gaming moments from gaming in my teen years. Nico's dedication to his family was so inspiring to me in my youth. He was so complex of a character and so fun to play as, all the while being so well writtem as a villain that we can still relate with him and his motivations. I LOVE this game so much

The gaming lemon reference healed my soul

Game is somehow still relevant politically 😂

50:16 TGL throwback just took me back 15 years holy shit

Another little nugget to make you feel old: GTA IV is today's Vice City. Meaning the time period it's set in compared to today was the same when Vice City came out  😢

I've said it before and I'll say it again. GTA 4 is my favorite video game of all time. It just does everything perfectly. From the dark and gritty story, to the incredible physics and realism. I really hope that GTA 6 takes more notes from this game than 5. Also, that gaming lemon reference when you entered tw@. Yeah, I got that immediately.

Shooting someone with the Glock 17 is still my favorite way to fight in any GTA to date, the body physics are just phenomenal.

There is a mod that changes the game from the DirectX API to Vulkan which does give a lot of stability and overall performance improvements. A must-have for those wanting to revisit this game on PC.

6:05 Your WHAT?!?!

Anybody who wants to play the gta 4 on their modern pc must have these mods-
1. Fusion fix (necessary)
2. Various fixes mod (also necessary)
3. DayL time cycle mod (optional)
4. After installation fusion fix you can change the capture api from directx9 to vulkan
5. Turn off the vsync and in game frame limiter instead use the rivatuner statistics server to lock fps to 60 other wise game will show bugs.

TLDR- I have played many high graphics and great story games on my 5070ti but seriously i really love the vibes and atmosphere of the liberty city and story of gta 4 it has become one of my fav games

I played GTA IV for the 1st time back in 2009. I've completed the game once every year since. IV is my favorite game ever and I'm so glad it still gets love up to this day.

Almost all the game's major issues can now be fixed by Fusion Fix.  If you're going to do one thing, I'd do that.  It will also recommend the Various Fixes mod, which I also recommend as it is plug and play with Fusion, as many newer mods are.  You can install both of these extremely easily - if you can run installers and/or drag and drop files you can install these with no trouble.  While there is also a mod wrapper that translates the API from Direct X to Vulkan, you should not need this with your rig.  If you run Fusion and Various Fixes the stability is already so vastly improved you shouldn't have a problem, but it is an option if you still have significant frame stutter.  This will fix the issues you had with cutscenes, draw distance, pop in, and more.

If you really care about nostalgia Console Visuals and a mod to restore all the songs from Radio Vladivostok are also available and are also plug and play with Fusion.  Personally I don't use Console Visuals, as the main draws of vegetation texture issues and car reflection are now handled with Various Fixes and Fusion Fix respectively, but it's an option.  There are a couple recommended texture mods that the people behind Fusion also list as recommended if you want to pretty things up, but you do have to be comfortable editing a value in a .ini if you're gonna upgrade vehicle textures.  It's very easy to do but I can understand not wanting to do that if you're not usually into modding.

tl;dir Just get Fusion Fix and Various Fixes as a minimum to fix all kinds of issues and get good performance.  If you can locate your GTA4 install location and can copy/paste files you can install them in under a minute.
