After leaving Bentonville, Arkansas, I pointed the Sprinter van west and made the long drive to Winter Park, Colorado—home to the bike park that started it all for me.

Trestle Bike Park was the very first lift-access bike park I ever rode when I was 13 years old. Ever since that trip, I've wanted to come back.

Back then there was one trail that completely blew my mind: Banana Peel. It's one of the most iconic and intimidating jump trails in Colorado, packed with massive wooden features, huge gap jumps, and obstacles so serious that you have to sign a special waiver before you're even allowed to ride it.

As a kid, I never imagined I'd have the skills—or the confidence—to make it down that trail.

Today, I'm back to see if I can finally conquer Banana Peel once and for all.
