They left the garden wearing clothes God had made for them, with a guarded way behind them and a lifetime of work ahead. Adam would live nine hundred and thirty years in total. But before his own return to dust, he would lose one son to murder and watch the other leave. What happened to the first family after the moment everyone remembers?

This is the story of Adam and Eve after Eden: the ground that resisted Adam, the children Eve received with gratitude, the death of Abel, the birth of Seth, and the generations that carried their family's story forward. We also explore the later traditions about their repentance and the search for the oil of mercy, clearly distinguished from Genesis, before following the Bible's promise from Adam to Christ and from the guarded tree of life to the healing of the nations.
