Okay, Mat4yo's verse is literally Wally's character development.
Wally has an undisclosed illness which makes it hard for him to breathe. But over the course of his journey, he learned to be confident and not afraid of the world because of his illness.
Mat4yo had a bunch of sickness references at the beginning, and his flow progressively gets quicker and more complex, which matches Wally's character development.
"Anyone thinking I'm gonna choke ain't gonna make it through victory road!"
Then he ends with with that, and the final fight with Wally on Victory Road is a tough fight, and shows the culmination of his growth as a Pokemon Trainer.

Paul is an anime-only character. Since he doesn't appear in any of the games, Cam Steady compares you with Paul, saying you both have "no game", which is about as disrespectful as Paul himself, which is to say pretty f@cking disrespectful.

"I believe Chi-Chi did" I fucking WHEEZED perfect response

@Bbarr9612 4 years ago

“While you never had game, I got you lookin like Paul” was because Paul was solely in the anime and never had any in-game appearances

If Chi-Chi was a cheerleader growing up, she would definitely be the coolest one hands down.
Whose with me?

Our boy is back. Lowkey missed your reactions and analysis but I hope you had a great thanksgiving.

Barry comparing somebody to Paul is almost as disrespectful as Paul himself. Great reaction, and I’m a big Pokémon fan so I got most of the bars.

Welcome back!

Hope the time off was rejuvenating.

If you take 2 uppercase Ls that are side-by-side and tilt them 45 degrees, they make a W!

Can’t stop, won’t stop.

Often in Pokemon cyphers, STAB/"STAB" is refering to "Same Type Attack Bonus". It's a game thing, but basically, you fire type and use a fire type move it's stronger, same with water and water move, grass grass move, etc.

man your reaction to the de-esser bar was perfect! I don't know mixing so it flew over my head at first beyond gameboy/ds but now seeing it click for people is very fun

Apparently (according to Mat4yo's breakdown) Chi-Chi's verse was intentionally modeled on Hollaback Girl

@wordlife94 4 years ago

the guitar for Mega Ran's verse sounds like the same as Shofu's verse on the Pokemon Trainer cypher where he was Ash at the end. I wonder if that was intentional

Blue is the rival in the game and is who Gary is based on, which is why in Yellow an option for your character name is Ash and Gary is an option for the rival since it is a remake of Gen I based on the anime

@ZeroCodexG 4 years ago

Glad that you had a good time man! Missed your reactions!

@aidantalksalot5132 4 years ago

Ahem. So like remember when rustage said "end this prematurely kinda like your family" to naruto. Ya calling someone Paul in pokemon context is that level of disrespect.

@tiredbutsatisfied 4 years ago

Just a heads up! Technically Blue (Or Green as his name is in Japan) is the OG rival but for the anime they changed his design a bit (making his hair darker ect) and renamed him Gary. Besides a few changes (personality/motivation) they are still kind of the same character
