Killing Marissa was a huge mistake. Nothing they did in S4 was gonna save that. As the writers themselves said it essentially killed the show. She was to big of a character who deserved more.

There’s something melancholy about a series that actually ends in a short amount of time it’s like we get to appreciate the great parts even more knowing that it all ends instead of having like 9-10 seasons

My favorite characters was both Ryan & Marissa I really don’t have a favorite season at all ,& when they killed off Marissa’s character the show already was over I cried so hard I watched this show a few months ago after it was off air/ cancelled
I didn’t watch this show when it aired so yeah!!

It was dumb to kill her off. But at the same time, life isn't fair and things don't always turn out how they were supposed to.

Season 1: TV GOLD
Season 2: Repetitive
Season 3: Complete Garbage
Season 4: Desperately trying to make it to the finish line.

It was better than gossip girl the characters were more likable and had more depth!

Great video. Unpopular opinion, but I actually hated Marissa and glad she was out of the show. She was always rushing to rescue other boys (aka Oliver, Johnny), and in turn muddying the dynamic between herself and Ryan. IMO Ryan needed someone who actually wanted to be with him and not have a bunch of drama. I loved Marissa and Ryan in season 1, but in season 4 Taylor was so cute, positive and exactly what Ryan flourished from and she brought out the best in him.
