I bought an Esee 6 10-11 years ago & now live in San Diego where it's sometimes humid, not all the time. When I moved here, my knives were put in the wrong box so I couldn't find them for 4 years. My Esee was without oil all that that time & had zero rust with maybe a couple of tiny patina stains that buffed out. I'd rather have a strong blade that would flex instead of break or chop like this one but easy to sharpen in the field or rust if you just do the most basic maintenance.
I carried an Esee 5 with me in Afghanistan… Loved it! I still use it when camping and hiking, regardless of the bulk and weight… It just feels right to me. Very well made. I enjoyed the video, thanks for making it 👍
Trained with them in Peru in 2007. The we’re switching to Rowan at the time, they were carrying RAT knives (and a few others). Some great guys, we lost touch, I’m sorry to hear about Mike.
I've been out here doing Canyon explorations in the desert for 35 years, almost 40 now. The last 10. I have carried the Esee6, the expat, and a Mora01 knife around my neck and I have never needed anything more than these three under any circumstances
