I was at this recital. What he plays there is a set of old Lawrie Drones with a McCallum Chanter, his Naill set is a full silver set..

The transition from jig to reel at 26:08 is just amazing!

I was there as well! It was fantastic. At 47:29 I am on his left in the plain short sleeve shirt with the beard. It was so cool to be this close and watch him play.

Always will be a legend of piping, truly the pinnacle of solo piping artistry. Very special. Thanks for recording and sharing this. That high A... the birl, esp off B. The quality of the pipes, just beautiful.

A great player, a great character and a damned good friend to our family in tough times.
Welcome at my door any day

They may be Naills, but it looks like a really old set, David Naill is a fairly modern company.

Any word of where Gordon is he seems to 'have disappeared' since his case and charge?
