I'm so thankful i don't have access to auctions like that, i'd be living in a tent with one hell of a gun room attached

The first pair of Purdeys, sometimes called l feel unkindly "cripple stocks," can sometimes have been made for shooters who lost an eye and were only able to shoot from their non dominant eye .
It kept those who had come home from the wars shooting in normal life.

Thanks to Holts and to yourself for sharing your passion and knowledge. You take the time to discuss the aesthetics of the various sporting arms on offer.

George Jeffries of Norwich had a son 'George Lincoln Jeffries' who went to Birmingham and joined BSA where he made the Lincoln Jeffries air rifle. He also made revolvers etc

I could watch videos of wonderful old sporting arms all day! Appreciate you doing these! Fantastic and a little sad these incredible heirlooms are being auctioned off but wonderful that they are still out there to be enjoyed! ❤️👍🏼👍🏼
