We 87% lower snow precipitation here in Abbotsford

I ve had this on repeat all day

It is too late and people are still in denial

and remember, the IPCC are constantly shown that their predictions are too conservative. James Hansen has been a much more reliable source. Even then, we've entered unprecedented times, it seems everything's accelerating faster than any models are predicting.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

We are too busy warring to concern ourself with the climate. The goal being the last man standing wins. Damm the consequences.

I don't think the majority are living in denial . I do think the struggles of everyday living  blocks out the answers for them ...... even when they are directly impacted .

I live in Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal. I have seen glacier retreating in few years through my eyes and i have seen Monsoon getting longer and wilder. Climate change is real but denial are growing at alaraming rste

Lets see if Earth 🌎 can support life without a Cryosphere

With the crustal slip, countries approaching the equator are seeing a sea level rise, but those moving away are seeing a sea level fall.

The oceans are not only impacted by global warming: overfishing, pollution, especially plastic pollution as well as the billions gallions of untreated sewage which are dumped into the oceans worldwide threatens the oceans. The results of all these pollutions are algaes blooms and dead zones.

Framed by the concept of the "technosphere”—a term denoting the global network of technologies, infrastructures, institutions, and cognitive extensions shaping contemporary existence I propose that modern civilization functions as a vast, energy-dependent dissipative structure.

Drawing from Ilya Prigogine’s non-equilibrium thermodynamics, Alfred Lotka’s energetics of evolution, and the Maximum Entropy Production Principle (MEPP), I argue that the technosphere has become a self-reinforcing attractor, compelling ever-greater energy consumption and accelerating entropy production. I explore the implications of this dynamic for governance, highlighting the fragility of liberal democracies in the face of impending energetic decline, and contrast Western individualism with collectivist models such as China's meritocratic governance.

I advance the thesis that humanity’s cultural memory—encoded in tools, technologies, and institutions—has outpaced genetic evolution and now forms the primary adaptive system. Yet, this adaptation comes at the cost of ecological overshoot. Like others, I warn of a looming civilizational rupture as fossil fuel depletion intersects with climate drift and I posit that only a profound accommodation can realign the technosphere with planetary boundaries.

Through the lens of thermodynamic realism, I call for a critical reevaluation of political models, economic paradigms, and cultural values, suggesting that without a radical transformation, the self-replicating logic of technological expansion may prove to be both humanity’s greatest asset and its existential trap.

'Technosphere' is a short multidisciplinary essay that explores the intersection of thermodynamics, complexity theory, and cultural evolution to interrogate the sustainability of human civilization, a free essay available on Google Books. The peril has been replaced by certain doom. Study the science,  if you dare.

The whole world is never going to agree on anything .

Earth's survival? Maybe you mean... Human being's survival?

The best solution is put a 3.5 km lens that blocks radiation so we block the sun's radiation on the space station or we could put a disc that completely blocks the sun 100% but I heard that when the sun gets blocked people suffer learning problems and become extremely depressed and aggressive because they require the vitamins of the sun to keep your blood circulating to put enough oxygen in a person's body to keep them rational another thing we need to do is start building 4 kilometer to 6 km mountains to create new icebergs
This should be our top priority of all of humanity at this moment

We need to consider relocating to a higher climate region where the temps are always lower.

JUSTICE

The problem is that even if we WANTED to move to 100% Renewable energy, the Earth does not have enough resources to be mined for all of the infrastructure and BATTERIES we would NEED to make it possible... Also, HOW do we prevent people's electric cars from BURNING DOWN their HOMES?! Those lithium batteries are enormous and thermal runaway during a fire is a guarantee with those types of batteries at some point in the battery's lifespan... :(

The planet is not in peril, life is and humans are part of life.    So by consuming more than what Earth is able to recycle and regenerate we are just creating a new environnement where life might not be soon possible anymore.  So we are just doing what is require to auto-destroy ourselves.   We might be intelligent, but unfortunately we are a bunch of intelligent idiots.   So our story has more probability to badly end.
