Tell It Animated

The Riddler is one of Batman's whackiest villains, but just how has he evolved since his on-screen debut? From the campy 1960's Batman series to 2022's The Batman, let's go through Riddler's TV, Cartoon, and Movie Evolution...animated!
And this animation is definitely quite the enigma ;)

I like how the Riddler is now a respected foe again and making him basically the Zodiac Killer is genius.

Always felt that the goth Riddler from the 2004 Batman was an underappreciated look. Being voiced by Freddy Kruger himself, Robert Englund, also helped this version stand out.

Impressive how he went from goofy kid friendly villain to a scary ass serial killer straight out Se7en and Zodiac.

Really love the Riddler in The Batman 2022 movie. He's a lot darker and aggressive in this version. The acting for him was incredible. He's now my new favorite version of the Riddler.

The Riddler in the comics and other adaptation: A genius with a bowler hat, a mask, and a nice green suit who is obsessed with problem solving and gives clues.

The Riddler in Batman 2022: Looks like the serial killer that came straight out of the Dark Web and was inspired by the Zodiac Killer.

The Batman's Riddler was amazing. I found it innovative how he was different and quite liked the "zodiac killer" inspiration for the character. Plus, Paul Dano really smashed the ball out of the park with his performance. Plus who knows, after how he reacted to losing and the possibility of being back in a sequel, he might start quipping.

I loved batman Arkham’s riddler. From origins to knight, you slowly see him becoming more and more insane. I think his best look was arkham city.

03:18 bro looks like if Lex Luthor was cosplaying Ridler

Great as always! I think an evolution of Penguin would be nice; but maybe after his tv series premieres next year to give him an extra appearance

I loved Riddler in the show “Gotham”.
You really get to sympathize for the character and understand him 💚

The Arkhamverse Riddler will always be my favorite depiction of the character and it’s all thanks to Wally Wingert, his voice actor. I really did love Paul Dano’s performance though! He’s right up there with Arkham Eddie now.

The 2022 Riddler is different than the others, because he is actually taken seriously as a threat to Gotham

@ishraqtalukder4518 4 years ago

2022’s riddler is a refreshing newest take of the character as the most scariest one. Hopefully makes a catwoman evolution soon.

I love Riddler suit, he got drip and riddles for days also Cory Michael Smith did a great job in Gotham ngl

My favorite Riddlers have been the one from the Gotham tv show and the new one from the 2022 movie. They're so vastly different and both so damn awesome.

@CourtRobGray 3 years ago

I absolutely loved the riddler in Gotham because I was pumped about his origin with him meeting his future self and having a tragic life along with romantic. I also liked the relationship he had with penguin because it starts as a partnership, they then turn into enemies after Penguin killed riddlers lover. Then they join again and become a duo of crime. Although, originally, penguin and joker are the duo and so is riddler and two face but whatevs

I kind of like the new Riddler. He looks cool and he seems like a great villain, (I haven't seen the movie yet.) But I never really thought of the Riddler as a serial killer.
