Digging a water well by hand is hard enough, but doing it during a record rainy year? That’s a whole different story. In this video, I’m sharing the chaotic, challenging, and ultimate rewarding journey of digging a well on my property.The plan started simple: excavator through the first few meters of tough red clay down to the sand, and then switch to hand-digging while lowering concrete rings with a crane to prevent cave-ins. But then, disaster struck.Right as I was about to hit the water table, a massive rainstorm hit. The rushing water packed the sand tightly around the main well rings, jamming them completely. They wouldn't budge an inch.
