Absolutely disgraceful. This club needs to be folded and erased from Premier League history. This corruption, cheating, threats and blackmail cannot be tolerated in any way shape or form by the football world, the football authorities or the government. Shame on anyone who has been involved committing this or covering it up. Not only should the club be liquidated but those involved in committing any form of tax fraud should also be jailed!

I think club liquidation is now the only option left. Point deductions are not sufficient for this level of fraudulence. Neither are fines adequate

Canadian here. This clubs owners have started to threaten your government. City should absolutely be ban from the leauge full stop. This is way beyond football at this point and no club should ever be threatening a government. Any city fan supporting this who lives in England should be sick to their stomach at their club. Done of end of discussion. This is absolutely disgusting and insane.

I think Man City's ownership and management has indulged in such high levels of fraud that liquidation of the club is the only viable solution.
Relegation or points deduction will not alone serve justice to years of harm done to PL, other clubs and even teams that missed winning PL, finishing top 4 or even clubs that got relegated.

The arrogance of the owners stems from their culture of never before being held accountable for their actions due to their State Ownership position and vast wealth.
City fans wanting a scorched earth policy after being caught is poor...

The implications for the integrity of why the Premier League is such a major Brand is at stake.

Owners thinking they can operate with impunity is dangerous

I would back every club playing City to take the field, shake the players hands (as the playing staff are victims of their owners arrogance), then walk off forfeiting the result.
This would leave the Premier League to take the sporting integrity of their product in front of millions world wide seriously.
City would then probably have the (dis)honour to win the League after being docked
40 points.
Their fans can then celebrate the sham plaudits amongst themselves.

Just like the ' Judas 6' debacle the fans are the real reason this league is the most enjoyable watch.

Let's be real. If CITY were entirely innocent and had nothing too hide they would've granted access to their books without much delay. Doubling down on their innocence at this point is beyond shameful. They deserve the harshest punishment.

Thanks for continuing to explain different aspects of this story. If state funding wasn't barred why didn't they just admit it was state funding all along. I still don't understand why the reporting documents under-reported the actual sponsorship amounts. it still sounds like fraud to me.

no matter how the appeal goes , Citys lost the plot with that threatening statement , imo thats the point of no return . if the outcome goes in their favor after this kind of act , the game as we know it is forever lost , the league will never recover its integrity and the UK will lose one of its most crucial cultural exports . I think these owners overestimate their power and influence to the point of obtuse arrogance and underestimate what football and this league mean to the people of this nation and all around the world
