12 Aldi Items to Stock Up On Before December 2026
Food prices in Britain have been fairly calm this autumn, and Aldi has cut the price of more than a thousand products this year. The companies that make Britain's food say that won't last. In September the Food and Drink Federation forecast that food inflation would reach 3.9% by December and peak at 6.4% next July.
Before December, the Budget arrives on 28 October and Ofgem announces January's energy price cap on 25 November. Then the Christmas rush begins.
In this video, we go through Aldi's shelves for the twelve items worth buying before December. We use one rule throughout: if it keeps and it's costing more to make, buy it a little early. If it doesn't keep, or the price has just been cut, wait.
In this video, you'll discover:
Why food manufacturers expect prices to rise again, and what a £100 shop from 2020 is forecast to cost by next July
The cheapest item on the list, at under 30p a bag
How to check whether Tesco or Sainsbury's will match Aldi's price closer to home
The cupboard staple that's up 60% on the Food and Drink Federation's figures, and the version of it that keeps for years
The ingredient that's up more than 100%, and why buying it in October is safe for Christmas Day
The British-grown crop that had a poor harvest after this summer's drought
The two Specialbuys that could sell out in a week, and how to find the date before they land
The aisle where waiting is the smarter move, and the one exception that lets you buy early
Every figure in this video is based on data from the Food and Drink Federation, IGD, the British Retail Consortium and AHDB, Ofgem announcements, Aldi's own listings and press releases, or named sources.
At UK Food Exposed, we investigate what British consumers are actually getting for their money, from supermarket shelves to restaurant chains and the heritage brands we grew up trusting.
