these characters are basically perfectly represented... which actually unfortunately means that it's near impossible to argue for a gumball win. he's not smart or verbose enough to match baldi's hitters and insane eloquence, especially with baldi implementing math terms into a lot of his lyrics. not to mention baldi's flow was just... better.

gumball's best lines were "your game sucks haha" and "you're bald haha" while baldi's were "you won't amount to anything and it's your fault" and "you're the worst of your already dysfunctional family."

the dress reference is a reference to the gumball episode “The Dress”, where gumballs clothes shrunk in the laundry and he had to wear a dress and Darwin didn’t recognize him and fell in love.

Neutralizing the acid thing was a chemistry pun, while also saying that gumballs show is weird and implying that he would fix it

Gumball's roasting Baldis hairline but Baldi is going for his family

Baldi absolutely won

I think this battle was closer than some people make it out to be with both Gumball and Baldi having some great schemes and lines. Both had good punches that were in character, but I felt that Baldi just had more variety (one bald joke would have been enough, though the single file hairline bar was particularly great). I also appreciate how much of a hype man Darwin was.

Thats Principal Brown from Gumball. Not Baldi

Baldi gets upset when you answer Incorrectly!!!

6:48 If you look at the Green tablet (You-Can-Think Pad) you can see “I HEAR FAMILY THAT BAD”

Honestly, If we are being honest here. Gumball’s bars are pathetic in comparison to the deep cuts that Baldi hits, but it’s entirely in character. Gumball wouldn’t make meta commentaries on people’s life purpose, he’s cynical but he’s not smart enough to make that leap, instead he makes cynical meta commentaries on the world while he throws cheap rage-baiting insults towards others. That’s why it’s so hard to tell who won. Baldi had the fire but gumball had insane character accuracy.

I will be giving a full deep dive of Baldi’s bars since some people don’t know about him. Acids are neutralized by adding a base, basically saying that his existence naturalizes gumball acid trip of a show. (Baldi’s Basics vs The Amazing World of Gumball). Also he does get angrier every question that is wrong.

The guy in the grey sweater is the principal who puts you in detention if you run in the halls.

The double chin bar is simply but could be a reference to his father who has three-to when he later compares gumball to his father.

Baldi hears every door opened in game, but is saying gumball is so dumb and uninspired that he closes doors to his future. The hairy guy is just the principal in the amazing world of gumball.

Baldi has a hearing sensitivity, and also makes inventions and in the newest Baldi’s basics game that fails.

You already worked the whole math bar, noting him as the problem child of his family line.

The girl in the red shirt is named ‘playtime’ who makes the player jump ropes on top of the other layers you talked about.

The toilet mouth looking kid is a kid who chews gum and spits it out, making the player stuck.

Darwin (the orange fish) is gumball adopted brother, and in many cases we’ve seen Nicole more patient with Darwin. Nicole also worries for gumball for than with Darwin in terms of their futures.

(Considering Gumball had Darwin join in his lyrics and do adlibs. Whereas Baldi merely used his student as props-I say that Baldi dominated this battle.)

There's another funny connection for Gumball and Baldi is that there was a fan episode made before this where Baldi is a substitute for Gumball's class which makes the episode even goofier because you can just imagine this in that episode.

Have you seen the GTA5 "Franklin vs Trevor Rap Battle" by ArcadeCloud?
Video is a bit old.

“When talking evolving mommy’s love, I think Darwin won” because Charles Darwin introduced the concept of evolution. “So best enjoy it while there’s still time to MAKE THE MOST OF IT” is a reference to a song from the amazing world of gumball by the same name. “You got less pixels than Darwin’s nude feet” in the show they pixelate Darwin’s feet to censor them.  “And then I’ll leave your new least favorite tape replaying endless” in the game you can collect a tape that plays a sound that will temporarily stop Baldi from hearing you (he can hear every door you open, as said in the later verse) “until you’re malfunctioning like one of your inventions” in the game the fog machine can malfunction causing the halls to be filled with fog as seen in the music video. “And this time it’s best to leave this glitchy mess in the void” the void is a place in the show where “mistakes” are placed and forever forgotten about. The idea of the void ties into how the original concept of the show was supposed to be about a school for rejected cartoon characters.

i like the line "i hear every door you shut"
because it's like an analogy for doors to different better futures being stuck
ykwim right?

little late to this but 4:23
"Stuck in a jam, you're too weak" is a reference the fact that Baldi's Basics was part of 2-week Game Jam where he landed second place, hence the "stuck" part. A Game Jam is basically an event where game developers are given a prompt to make a game around.

Yooo let’s get this started it’s hard to choose between gumball and Baldi they both have good verse 🔥🔥🔥🔥

2:27 "when i neutralize your acid trip with the basics" is referring to (if im wrong someone pls tell me) where the balloon character Allen is not very found of how gumball is and wants to change him and makes him just seemingly prefect to how he is as well and the whole world is supposed to be as weird as it it and gumball just gets perfect and isnt like his usual bratty and old self so yea baldi is breaking down his character in a way. 😂PS thats a chemical bar too cause acid breaks down substances in chemistry

6:13 "You're risking your career, I hear every door you shut" is peak. Baldi's game mechanics are largely based around sound detection and opening doors is loud and will have Baldi track you immediately if he lost you earlier, and one of Baldi's lines when you get a math question wrong is 'I hear every door you open', but as a teacher seeing gumball slack off, it's an inverse on a good education leading to many doors opening in your future.

This is absolutely a BANGER
