I’ve been through a lot over the last few years. It was a long fight, I felt sick all the time, lots of vomiting. Etc. they removed my stomach in April of 2025 and this year they removed most of my esophagus. I’m finally on the mend but the journey was extremely intense, exhausting and difficult. I was under the knife the first surgery for 6 hours. The second was 9 hours leaving literally 10 incisions all over my abdomen and a few on my side/back. I almost passed away on April 19th, three days after the surgery but rapid response got me back. I dropped to 128 pounds at my lightest and for me at 6’1”, I was dangerously low on weight. However, I’m up to about 140 as of now so that’s good but still underweight. I also worked out often and had great abs and oblique muscles and all around a fit body. All that hard work vanished. I still have abs but need to rebuild them after the nerves heal. I’m disease free now but I have a journey ahead to a full recovery. I was so fortunate the near death experience occurred while I was still in the hospital. It’s scary being told you’re near death and this surgery needs done. I relate to your experience and feel for you. I’m sorry you have had this happen, it’s very tough. Sending positive vibes your way.

The age limit for colonoscopy should be lower. I told my mom for two and a half months that I had blood in my stool, but she never took me seriously; she always thought it was hemorrhoids. It wasn't until late September that I told her one last time, and she gave up her GI appointment to give it to me, because she was sick of me complaining. As soon as I told the doctor, she recommended a colonoscopy to me about three times due to her highly suspecting cancer but not wanting to say it to me outright because I am 19.

Turns out, I had two precancerous polyps, along with a low-grade hemorrhoid. I'll forever be grateful to that doctor who took me seriously and didn't take my age into account. I now get one every five years thanks to her.  Get your colonoscopies, people, it could be you. There is no shame in getting one. People need to stop being ashamed of needing a colonoscopy or getting one; it's so life-saving. listen to nolan, he is so right.

Hey Nolan, I watched your video from Germany. Don't blame yourself for getting cancer. You haven't done anything wrong here. I get the thing that maybe some people sourcing strength out of the idea but it's also very hard on you. Do what you can and what you enjoy now. Don't worry about your future career today. Every person's timeline is their own because we all have different circumstances. Please don't measure yourself against people who aren't going through what you are. When you are ready, you will take the next step. What you are doing now - educating others about colon cancer in young people - is so important and meaningful.

You have not wasted your life. You have accomplished everything you set out to do far. You have made your parents proud. You are a role model for your little sister & even your older brother. You are in God's hands🙏

Illness can be such a mystery. We can be healthy, do everything right and still get cancer.

Nolan, you are a remarkable young man.  I am a hospital chaplain that has seen just about every situation you can image.  Your situation is very different from anything that I have witnessed.  Watching your vid has touch my heart in a very special way.  You are truthful about your journey and it's alright to be angry and confused about what you are experiencing.  I am confident that it will be helpful to all those that watch your vids as well as for you expressing your feelings.  I will be supporting you and praying every day for you as well having others do the same.  You have courage beyond any young person that I have known or mentored.  God bless you and comfort you.  I will pray that a miracle will be in you immediate future.

I was 34 when I was diagnosed with stage 3C rectal cancer. It takes a toll on you, grieving a life you thought you would have.

Thank you so much for your raw life story.  God is with you and will never leave you.  I was diagnosed when I was 30 with two little boys to raise and it was scary as hell. God never left me when I needed him most. I beat it and you will too. I'm now 57 and doing great. May God's healing power wash over you. May HE give you peace beyond all understanding. So many young people getting cancer now.  It's horrible and heartbreaking.

Hey Nolan, just another stage 3 colon cancer patient here who has been fighting cancer since july 2024. I'm older to you by about a year and a half. I'm currently undergoing chemo at one of the best hospitals in Mumbai, India. I've had a surgery done to remove the tumor but it recurred because it had already spread into the lymph nodes. I've taken 28 chemos so far through IV and my future chemos are with tablets, capecitabine. The new tumor is currently stable that's why I've switched to tablets as the side effects are not as severe and now I can roam freely unlike before as I had to visit the hospital once a week for the PICC dressing. One of the doctors has told me couple of times now that I'm never going to get cured from this disease, but that has never let my will to fight this disease down. There is absolutely no doubt that your situation is much more serious than mine and I get this very same feeling everytime I visit the hospital because there are patients who are in a much worse condition than I'm in. But let me tell you this, I know patients who have beaten stage 4 cancer and have went on to achieve all their dreams in their life. My only advice to you will be that do not lose hope and faith in God, in your family and friends and most importantly in yourself. You have to be mentally strong, stronger that you physically ever were and I'm sure you will beat cancer. I'm not saying that it'll be easy, infact it will probably be quite painful, but good things never come the easy way. I'm the youngest person in my family of four, but only my mom is giving her all to cure me, infact she does more for curing me than I do for myself! I want you to leverage the love of your family and friends, make them your strength. Always think about positive thoughts, never let even a slight smidge of a negative thought creep into your mind about anything, especially about cancer or death. I pray that you never ever get bedridden because I know how it feels, we share the same pain. But for the rest of your life, make it full of joy and laughter. I recommend you read the book 'The Power of your Subconscious Mind' by Dr. Joseph Murphy and if you've read it before, read it again, and again, until the summary of the book is drilled into your mind and wonders will happen, I say this from experience. I'll maybe contact you on insta someday, as I've deleted my current acc cuz I used to open it like once a month. If it's possible for you, we can chat there, but only if you want to and have time as I'm sure there are many more people who chat with you. Lastly, be strong, be brave and have faith. We got this;)
