Since I cant watch episode 5 for the first time ever again, I instead watch other people's reactions so I can relive it vicariously through them.

Jesse Kortuem, a real-life hockey player who walked away from the sport out of fear that he couldn't reconcile his athletic career and sexuality, has now shared a post coming out as gay because of the show❤🎉 Montreal Canadian captain said his team would support someone coming out❤🎉 Sunshine for Scott and Kip. Same song when they met. Their book complete. Couples hop around others but new couple. Ryan Price heavy name drop in episode 4❤. Love yall❤Actors signed for 3 seasons. Writer making 3rd book for shane and Illia❤

I love how Shane & Ilya get to be spectators of Scott & Kip's moment, just like us. Their faces, just staring, not knowing, we get to see our state reflected back to us by the two main characters. What a beautifully done moment.

You know, this is like the 40th reaction I watch and it doesn't matter how many times I watch this show, I cry every time I see the skip scene. Especially when the reactor gets emotional. I love your guys reaction and I can't wait to go to the cottage with you two. ❤

A fun little detail, the scenes that play when Rose asks Shane if he'd been with another guy etc, are alternate takes. So they're sort of same but different to cement them as memories.

....

Alexei's entitlement is a Russia culture thing, the patriarchy. Alexei is the older brother so "deserves" support from the "lower" younger brother. Especially because he's done the 'correct' thing for men and gotten married and produced children.

He's also being a dick about it in either context, but in his mind he is asking for things to be as they "should" be. These rules are especially harsh for queer Russians who can never satisfy them.

......

It's pretty clear that Svetlana knows Ilya is bisexual. She takes Ilya down to meet Sasha and drops him off and leaves. That's not any accident. She tried to give him a chance to decompress.

What's not clear is if she knows that Jane is Shane. But the names aren't really that clever, and Ilya does protest too much. So I personally think she does.

@СветланаСаградова 6 months ago (edited)

Yes, Svetlana says “he”)) many times translation wasn’t good (also about Ilya’s love for Shane), but in this moment all right. But she don’t knows who is Jane? Only that it’s he

I would’ve loved to have seen you react to this by yourself so that you could completely show the emotion without all the distractions. Maybe you can do that for season two.
