I just passed CRNA boards!!! Keep pushing through, this feeling is SURREALLto finally be done

I just retired from 30 years as a CRNA and 20 previous years in OR, ER and psych in-patient nursing.  I went to UCLA and my son, who is also a CRNA at Children's-LA, went to USC. Your video is extremely thorough and accurate - it paints the preparation and persistence required to successfully be accepted at CRNA school. Having OR experience made the difference for me in my training.  Best wishes for a successful career and thank you for this excellent post.

This is really insightful. As someone who wants to pursue nurse anesthesia after my BSN, this gives me a little hope if I don't end up at a CVICU

Applying to programs currently and wow our NursingCAS GPAs are almost identical (from my app last year). However I still feel like I may have to retake some science classes because other schools I'm applying to this year calculate it differently and I'm scared it will be lower for them 🥹🥹

This was awesome. I’m also a person that does a lot and can’t sit still lol. I am currently doing my LPN to ASN. I graduate within 4 months and I just got into the BSN program. I am looking into shadowing a CRNA to see if I truly want to be one. Also can you make a video on tips on trying to get into the ICU? I’ve been having a hard time trying to find a job where they accept new grads 😢

Hi Lilian! Hearing about your journey was super inspirational! I'm currently a high school senior doing some college classes as San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton. I usually don't leave comments but hearing you're form the same area motivated me to ask you for advice. I wanted to know your thoughts about the plan i've been thinking of. I want to get my associates in nursing over the next 2-2.5 years and then start working as ICU nurse while doing an accelerated BSN so I can start the clock on my ICU experience as soon as possible. Hopefully 2 years later I'd have my BSN and 2 years of ICU experience and then start applying to CRNA school. I have all my gen-eds done and only have A & P and Microbio left to do for Associates in Nursing prereqs and then I'll start applying to programs. I also will have my CNA certification in around 2 months. My main goal is to not spend too much time away from my end goal of being an anesthesia provider. I would love to hear your thoughts. I was wondering what resources or where did you reach out to, or recommend reaching out to in terms of communities/mentors i can find in person or online that worked for you. Hey, thanks for awesome video! The extra physiology and chemistry courses did you take them all with lab? Also did you take those extra courses online, if so where? Looking for potential online schools that people recommend and had a good experience with. I never had chemistry in my BSN and have to take it. Did you take both gen chem 1 and 2 online? Also was it the first time you took chem? Please let me know if you can, thanks.
