Fantastic footage and great to hear Jerome Robbins talk about his choreography - it would be great to see more!

I like how at 2:05 he just gives up and just starts listing the first words that comes to his mind.

What a genius!

Just saw west side story the movie ...brilliant choreography.   So refreshing 😌....excellent  technique from the dancers...brilliant direction from Spielberg and lovely cinematography.
Simply put...a breath of fresh air!

No matter what anyone says, always make sure you put salt in your popcorn. It's no good otherwise.

GRAN CREADOR  QUE LOGRO EXITOS EN LA DANZA  SHOW  CON UNA CALIDAD INMEJORABLE HASTA EL DIA DE HOY .

Wow, thank you so much for this.

One of the best actors to come out of the "Golden Age of Hollywood" Montgomery Clift, who had had a two year relationship with Jerome Robbins, said Jerry was a "theatrical genius!".

musical score that starts at 0:45 - Chopin | Mazurka in C major, Op. 24 No. 2

beautiful video that gives light on his work. Thank you for sharing <3

A legend.

amazong

Does anyone know what the dance at 1:40 is form? It looks like some NYCB video.

What was the ballet at 1:30?

What about 2.36? What ballet?:)

These days it's so bizarre to see him smoking during a rehearsal. You need to breathe to be able to dance, and that smoke sure isn't going help.

Ahead of his time
