EZ Mil *“Can You Keep a Secret”* reaction, and this one completely threw me off.

I thought I already understood how many different bags this dude had.

Then he started singing.

Falsetto.

Soul.

Pop.

R&B.

Michael Jackson-type phrasing.

Justin Timberlake-type energy.

And somehow it still sounded like HIM.

That’s the part that keeps catching me.

He’s not just switching genres.

He’s switching entire musical personalities.

At one point I’m thinking Justin Timberlake.

Then Bruno Mars.

Then Michael Jackson.

Then he switches again.

That’s why I keep calling him the Kyrie Irving of music.

He’s shifty.

You think he’s going one direction and he changes lanes before you can even get comfortable.

The vocals surprised me the most.

No heavy autotune feel.

Actual range.

Actual control.

Actual musicality.

And this song wasn’t giving me much to critique because it was just working.

The arrangement kept evolving.

The melodies kept changing.

The vocals kept stacking.

And then the production really started standing out to me.

Once I realized EZ Mil is making a lot of his own music, I started listening to the BEAT differently too.

There are layers that don’t even fully reveal themselves until later in the song.

Little overlays.

Guitar textures.

Background elements.

Subtle transitions.

That gives the song actual depth instead of feeling like somebody grabbed a random type beat, punched in 16 bars, repeated the hook, and called it finished.

There’s SOUL in this.

By the end?

Banger.

No debate.
