I miss the days when this was what we saw on T.V. instead of endless reality shows and crime dramas. So much talent back then, and you could tell the performers really loved the audience, brought them into the "joke", and were having a ball being on stage. RIP, Dolly. You brought us all so much joy.
I'm so glad the algorithm brought me this, Carol Burnett and Dolly Parton and some absolutely fantastic comedy and singing... thank god we still have Carol.
The little boy playing banjo is Lewis Phillips, his Family was “The Lewis Family” famous Bluegrass and Gospel band. Lewis would come out and play banjo through out the years and do Skits playing the Banjo with his Uncle Roy. My Family traveled in many parts of the southeast following along to the Blue grass festivals just to hear them sing and play! I came to the site to see Dolly and Carol and what a treat spotting Little Lewis too!
Wow! Just..wow! The 60s and 70s were a golden age of musical entertainment on TV, every great performer of the time, and such magical collaborations. Thank heavens so much of it is here on YouTube.
Now this is entertainment !!!! Carol Burnett has to be the most beloved of all entertainers, not just comic but raw talent and a deep love of her audiences.
I'm 60...Canadian from the bush, we only got two channels when it was super cold and clear - these were 2 of my favorites of my childhood!!! So easy to see why! Such iconic talent...RIP Miss Dolly, your music will go on forever. And Carol....no human funnier.
Oh dolly how we all loved you so! One of the most loved people of all time . Who could possibly not love her ! Well if there’s a heaven then she will be singing with the Angels ! Genius woman !
