the electronic screaming is their phones giving them a tornado warning telling them that theyre inside a twisting storm

That storm shelter tragedy is a harsh lesson for the rest of us: Make sure everything about a shelter you install, including the door and hinges, is rated for high-speed impacts and has an excessive amount of failsafes. Better to go overboard than to be found dead or critically injured from one of these beasts.
Another idea would be for each neighborhood block to have their own shared underground storm shelter that can house at least 20-30 people, either externally accessible or have underground corridors connected to every house for faster and lower risk evacuation.

The Rainsville tornado completely disproves the idea of being ok on a mountain. It didn’t change its speed at all going up a mountain. A hiker took a picture looking down at it

How this tornado wasn't rated an EF5 by the NWS is absolutely beyond me! Sweeping a row of well-built, BRICK homes completely off of their foundations is an unfathomable feat of atmospheric strength! R.I.P. to all of the poor souls who lost their lives in this horrific natural disaster, and God bless their families! 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤

21:20 fr like a lot of europeans dont understand just how violent tornadic winds are and just WHY they can demolish even concrete buildings. it's not THAT the wind is blowing. it's the fact that it's throwing entire ass engine blocks and cars into your house's walls at 200 mph

If the tornado turned north, it would have destroyed Conway, AR. A town of 30,000+ people and the location of Central Arkansas University.

Remember watching this live on local station KATV 7 and just the appearance of the radar reflectivity made my gut twist.

A tornado early in its life can be dangerous, but you generally see the least amount of damage for a given wind rating because there is little debris at that point. Once they take on a few forests worth of trees and a dozen homes of wood and brick, you have a massive combo of blender and sand blaster. At some point, if it lasts long enough, there is enough debris that even a large solid-built brick home will be abraded in moments. Steel-reinforced concrete is pretty much the only thing that can take a hit like that, but even then it might fail. This is Nature's power at it's most extreme in terms of small scale events. The only thing you can do is hunker down, stick your head between your legs, and kiss your backside goodbye, and then hope you make it.

These storms are terrifying 😢

This looked like Hackleburg 2011. The appearance sounds similar to descriptions of the Tri-State Tornado of 1925
