Sly Marbo once killed 50 Orks with a single grenade. Then it exploded.

the rare "planet is TOO habitable" problem

Catachan have always had a special place in my heart; as someone who grew up in the '80s with all the Stallone and Schwarzenegger movies, this Imperial Guard regiment (Astra Militarium WTF?) always caught my imagination.

Given my inability to purchase a ticket on a barge capable of warp travel I've suffered the effects of time dilation and only now has my vox unit received this blessed transmission. Omnissiah be praised!

The guy who though up Catachan and everything on it musta been on acid and been on an 80s action binge. Watching Rambo, Commando, and Predator back to back.

It must be hilarious to be a Daemon landing on Catachan, spouting the usual bravado about painful death and the glory of their God, threatening the Catchan Jungle Fighters that they'll make their life hell only for one them to flick a cigar into the Daemon's eye, unflinching and despondandly respond "I already live in hell and no God of yours could possibly frighten me more than the horrors in here."

Catachan: where the jungle hates you, the plants are planning your murder, and the wildlife is one bad day away from learning how to pilot a Leman Russ. The idea that a Commissar might get “lost” in the jungle and end up as vine food? Chef’s kiss.

I love how the regimental structure basically boils down to “who hasn’t been eaten this week—good, you’re in charge.” It’s almost charming that the Imperium keeps trying to send outsiders there, like they’ve forgotten what happened to the last five delegations. “Maybe this batch of refugees won’t be devoured in their sleep.” Sure, buddy.

Also, Sly Marbo being more myth than man is fitting. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if the jungle itself is afraid of him. Catachan isn’t just a Death World. It’s an ecosystem that read the rulebook on planetary hospitality, threw it into a woodchipper, and set the woodchipper on fire. Glorious.

Including a group like the Catachan jungle fighters was an inspired piece of lore for Warhammer 40k. It helped make things so much more intriguing.

When I first was learning about the tyranids and their first documented attack, I wasn’t all that spooked until I read the jungle fighters fled. It gave me a chill cuz those guys aren’t scared of anything 😮

Last time I was this early the Necrons were in their golden age.

Thanks for the videos they're always so nice to listen to. ❤

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"

- Sly Marbo

A deathworld that ironically has so much life

My favorite regiment, they really helped get me into 40k and are why I play the Guard

ITEHTTS Sly Marbo is my Sly Marbo head canon and noone can take that away.

Mordian, Vostroyan and Valhallan
Regiments would be awesome

"What if you had an entire planet of Rambos?"

Can't wait for the Tallarn Desert Raiders

My favorite piece of lore I found on catachan is that the nids once showed up and the jungle beat them before the locals could mount an attack.

So the Catachans in Nurgle's Garden.  "Nice place!" or "Feels like home!".

Brillaint you're getting the art work past the 30 min mark. Great script too.
