Nearly half of African countries are at risk of debt distress. Multiple macroeconomic shocks have laid bare the continent’s vulnerabilities. It is now imperative that we interrogate the existing financial architecture for development and propose alternatives.
What could an alternative development finance system look like that is more just and equitable? How can we do away with debt burdens that constrain low and middle income countries? What tangible actions are needed to bring about such a change?
