I'm a Midlander living in Brighton for the last 25 years, they say BARTH instead of Bath and laughed at me for saying bath, 'it's barth, you Brummie Ignoramus'🤭 I said well, I've got an Auntie Cath, should I start calling her Auntie CARTH then'?🤔 I love your channel and dry humour Charles!❤
This tutorial makes me nostalgic, because I know this area well, having grown up just 15 miles from Housesteads. Now living in the US, I started watching your tutorials to help me cope with Trump as President, as well as covid lockdown. It turned out to be very therapeutic and although many of my efforts end up in the bin of shame, I reckon some progress is being made, so thank you!
Thank you! I love this painting and it has taught me so much on how to paint stone walls. I was fortunate to visit Hadrians Wall a few years ago with a dear friend who lived in Tynemouth. We stopped and had a lovely lunch at the Black Bull in Corbridge. It brings back such fond memories. We walked down to a little churchyard and a woman was making poppy wreaths.
Thank you Charles, you've taken away my guilt and doubt with the "what a load of rubbish, just mix some more" comment, re running out of paint! 👏. I very rarely manage your full length tutorials but I'm thoroughly enjoyed this one. So glad I made the time to watch. 👍
I love all your videos/tutorials but this one is especially interesting to me, because of the stone wall! Thank you for the detailed explanation and the excellent close up filming! 👍😊
33:58 Cries of 'Old credit card!' fill the air. Been a good few years, and many fancy paintings in acrylics ago, since I first bought my turquoise handled 'Charles Evans' brand round brush and flat three quarter for watercolour, but I still appreciate, and remember, all those first principles I learned from you back then.
