Strange about the coffee. European coffee is usually twice as strong as American restaurant coffee.

Very informative wrap-up!! Considering that you guys got off this voyage over a month ago, I'm amazed with how much of the experience that you remembered and the amount of detail! When I'm on a cruise, I can barely remember yesterday! Must be the Celebrity Elite happy hour, Lol!! Dee - love the festive sweater!!

We definitely want to sail Costa because of the cost. Even with a ton of add ons, it is a well priced line. But I cn say the same of Celestyal and Margarita at Sea. So it would take the right circumstances.

As an old fart who generally needs a little extra time to get into an elevator, knowing that I can throw elbows is just a reason to work out. Motivation is so much of keeping up!

I would do it just for the experience! I love traveling to foreign countries, so this is like having a bunch of them all in one place! And Dee, you are absolutely right - the people can make or break your cruise or most any trip. Wishing you both a very merry Christmas and a prosperous 2026 with lots of fun adventures! 🤗👍👍

I definitely want to sail Costa one day! Interesting to hear your thoughts on this cruise line! I do wish they would sail from the US at least one ship seasonally!

Great take! I think most cruise lines are heavy on the upsell now days. Just got off my first Celebrity Cruise and the upselling was strong with that one. I've never been reminded so much that I didn't have the drink package and I should buy it.

Yay. Excited for your HAL blog. One difference from MSC is they have great lido coffee.

We sailed MSC years ago and found the same thing, these guys are butting into the line! But actually they aren’t, they’re focussed on the one thing ahead of you and they just go for it. Once we learned that, we just walked around them and “ butted “ back in. No one ever said a word…

It would take me a while to get used to no included water at meals. What a good thing to know in advance to make sure to buy a drinks package.

Been three times with Costa. Food as you said is above average . Last time we booked a suite for the price of a balcony on other lines. Came with your own restaurant and kitchen. The food was one of the best we ever had. Coffee is normally strong and tasty in Europe, much better than the US. It is. ;-) Thanks for the vid and looking forward for the upcoming HAL cruise your doing. All the best from the Netherlands.

You talked me out of Costa with the coffee comment.

Interesting comparing this to Paul and Carol love to travel's costa Smerelda video today.

@VITRAVELS18 9 months ago

The only way I would sail them is if it was between 2 other cruises and the cruise was cheaper then staying in a hotel until the next cruise

The thought of not being able to get a glass of tap water from a bar…. I’ll pass. Great overall analysis.

Do you have access to hot water atleast. I would just bring instant coffee it works in a pinch

@Aussieland21 9 months ago

Do they have trivia and is it in English?

@meerakb2 6 months ago

Can you go to the buffet at any time and is it open at any time? You mentioned you were assigned to a restaurant, does that mean you can't go to other restaurants or request that? Is there toiletries in the cabins - shampoos, conditioners and body washes? Towels are included too? Is there anything you can say you have to pay from apart from water, drinks, wifi ?
