WE'RE SO BACK

The year is 2085. Civ XVIII just released. Boes uploads another mind-blowingly difficult Civ VI challenge. The crowd goes wild

Using weird viking science to make horses by chopping wood, good times

This is basically using the modern day billionaire playbook:

pillaging the world of all its riches to fund a space expedition to leave the ruins behind

Imagine being a peasant in 425BC. Your village has spent the last thousands years being subsequently pillaged and rebuilt by Viking warriors. One day you look up, you see pillars of light surging towards the stars. The Vikings continue pillaging.

Oxford University? Never heard of it.
I do recall bleep University however.

boethius casually speaking Korean was my personal highlight of this vid (having been in North America for last ~20 years, I still do a double take if I hear Korean outside of Korea)

Sub 100 Space Race on Standard speed sounds very difficult, I wonder which Science-based civ will boes pi-
*NORWAY?!*

Vikings were just trying to find Valhalla while alive

CALL THIS THE 3RD LORD OF THE RINGS BECAUSE IT IS RETURN OF THE KING

LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOO

For everyone's infomation, 400BC (turn 100 in game) was:
About 4 years after the end of the Peloponnesian War
About 3 years after one of the starting points of the Warring States period in China
Approximately the year of the invention of the Greek catapult
Approximately around the death of the Buddha

Sparta was still fighting Athens when boesthius made landfall on another planet.

Turns out the whole time he was gone he was just trying this over and over like some mad man.

Boesthius civ video is like a Solar Eclipse.
They don't happen often, but when they do, everyone stops to watch.

PSA: To watch a Boesthius civ video safely, always wear certified Boesthius civ video glasses that comply with the ISO 12312-2 international standard. Regular sunglasses, tinted windows, and unverified filters will not protect your eyes. If you are using cameras, telescopes, or binoculars, you must attach a specialized Boesthius filter to the front of the optics

HE REMEMBERED HIS PASSWOOOOOOORD

Someone hug Sunny to celebrate!

Referencing "Don't say swears" was my Ratatouille moment

Also, since you chopped down entire forests to get those spaceport projects out, I like to imagine you somehow made all those spacecraft out of wood.

I can't even do this on online speed 😭.

He returned when the world needed him the most

11:20 i was half expecting a Raid Shadow Legends plug at this point ngl

This is like watching Jackass except it's all mental pain.
