[Okayama City and Town Gourmet Rally #65]
This time, we look at Mabi Town, Kibi District, Okayama Prefecture (now Kurashiki City).

Mabi Town is a commuter town of Kurashiki City with a population of 20,000.
During the Edo period, the Okada Domain was established here, and a bustling post town called Kawabejuku was built along the Sanyo Road.
However, this post town was destroyed by heavy rain disasters long ago, when the Takahashi River flooded.
And those floods continue to occur today.

Mabi Town was once home to a homeless shelter run by Okayama Prefecture called Okada Rehabilitation Hall.
Okada Rehabilitation Hall was reputed to be a model facility, but it was also the site of Okayama Prefecture's darkest crime.

[What is the Okayama All-City Gourmet Rally?]

Before the great mergers of the Heisei era, Okayama Prefecture had 78 cities, towns, and villages.

I will pick out delicious and tasty-looking restaurants in each city, town, and village one by one.

The restaurants I pick out are entirely based on my personal preferences. Therefore, please understand that there may be a bias in the foods I eat.

I will be touring the cities, towns, and villages in alphabetical order, so I hope you will enjoy it.

About this channel
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okayama is a prefecture that is neither glamorous nor blessed with magnificent nature.

This channel is written by HIROYA, a Mongee rider who was born and raised in Okayama, a land that is not very noticeable, and introduces Okayama's standard touring spots, from famous places to deep spots, in motoblog format on his beloved NC750X.

Mongee means "amazing" in Okayama dialect.

I hope that this channel will make you think of Okayama as Mongee, even if only a little.

I also often go riding in Sanin, Shikoku, and Kansai.

In 2016, I traveled around Japan on a 50cc Little Cub for about a year.

I have posted a blog that records my days around Japan at the link below, so please take a look if you are interested.
