I have nothing to do with hair, in fact I have little of my own, but I always enjoy your videos and the way you explain the characteristics of cameras and lenses from a practical, hands on POV.
I don't usually learn a lot of really cool "new" stuff from photography videos at this point, but I was not aware of focus confirmation with manual focus. I just tried this out with my 5D Mark IV and 24-70 set to manual focus as a test, and it works well! The caveats are it must be set to one shot and only works through the OVF. Live view doesn't make the beep sound, nor does it show the focusing square. Next test for focus confirmation will be with my old FD lenses adapted to EF that only work in manual focus.
Thanks for teaching me something useful!
Also, I agree that Christopher Frost is great. Relaxing and informative.
Andrew, screw the haters! I watched every second of this video, it was awesome. Haven't seen you in a while and glad to see new stuff. Keep sharing your views on EF glass, i love it! And i don't even shoot full frame.
I would have a hard time picking between the EF 50mm 1.8 & the EF 40mm 2.8 as a first lens beyond a kit lens. I've also got an EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM as a general purpose walk-around lens for my 5D & 5D Mark II, that or the first EF 28-80 f/3.5-5.6 USM (there are five different versions) both are extremely sharp and come in around $100, so they won't break the bank.
