Ran into him at the airport in SD last month, I could not believe it was him, like spotting a yeti! He was Flying to San Jose, I was heading back to AZ,I was in awe, all these normal people at the airport not knowing they were in the presence of a skate God, just passing us by, Like dude…. This is MJ right here!!!!

I’m glad I got to let him know how much all his skateboarding meant to me over the years from Maple onwards…i started skating in 97…just a rad human in general…He was waiting for his flight to San Jo to meet up with Louie, the same meeting Louie speaks of in his remembrance post from today. RIP MARC …BIG GUNS BABY, BIG GUNS

Oh and it was a trip… He took a photo of the shirt i was wearing. A green ccs shirt with some Gonz art… like what?! “Marc has a pic of me in his phone he took himself.?!” Life is crazy.

I forgot Marc brought the switch flip manual on loop ! goes to show you how thoughtful he was. Only one thing for us all to do now, lets go skate. R.I.P. Marc.

I didn't realize Marc gave Chris the now-famous framed video of the neverending switch flip manny. RIP Marc Johnson, you made skateboarding more funny, friendly, gnarly, artsy, and just better than it was before your time.

My condolences to his son and loved ones. We’re all grieving along with you.

No way MJ is the guy who gave Nine Club switch flip switch manny. Iconic

Met him at skateboarding hall of fame 2018. I went and got tickets because Guy Mariano was getting inducted. I bought a board to get signatures, because you couldn't bring boards in. I had Marc, Mike Mo, and Rodney sign it. When I asked Marc for his autograph and photo, he was standing in the back secluded from everyone else and my friend similarly named Mark, was too shy to ask. When I went up and asked him, he said something along the lines of "Oh sure, I guess". He genuinely seemed confused that we wanted to take a photo and get a signature from him out of all the people there. But among the people there, he was one of the most legendary people in attendance.

Heart broken. RIP, one of the biggest influences to my skating growing up. Inspired me to believe that "If you could see it, if you could think of something in your head, you could do it"

@agostocobain2729 4 months ago

Its so cool he left a huge dent in the skate world, and accomplished goals, and will never be forgotten in skateboarding, his memory will live on, you can't ask for more than that!
