WE DID IT! 🚁 ENAIRE has changed the notification for natural areas identified as NON-AIP DATA. This is an important step forward for the AEPU (Spanish Association of Pilots) and will provide pilots with clearer information.
In the last video about Paolo's trip to Brussels, we hinted at some changes. Now we can show you the change and explain why it matters.
In this video, we compare the old text with the new one and explain what it means for preparing your flights:
✅ It remains the same that this data does not imply a restriction or authorization for overflight in accordance with aeronautical regulations.
✅ The generic reference to consulting the manager "regarding possible operational limitations" has been removed.
✅ Contacting the manager is now suggested "for more information."
✅ The protection of wild animals, as outlined in Article 54.5 of Law 42/2007, is explicitly mentioned.
The key achievement is clarifying the message the pilot receives. This change doesn't mean we can fly unconditionally in any protected area: we must respect wildlife and the regulations applicable to each operation.
At AEPU, the Spanish Association of UAS Pilots, we continue working to defend pilots and ensure clear information and provided requirements.
Did the previous notice raise any doubts or cause you to cancel a flight? Let me know in the comments.
