The legacy controller setting just floors me. I played around with the settings before starting my game and didn’t see that choice.

I think I've made ALL of these mistakes! My biggest was, since I have played the original since 2013, I went off and tried to explore EVERYTHING leaving the story missions on the back burner. DON'T DO IT! Frustration with the 'open' world being closed off plus forgetting there are a lot of story triggers to open and get more stuff. Agreed with all of them. The one tip I want to give is learn to use the rope dart, watch some videos of stuff you can do with it for sure. Higgs said smoke bombs are your best friend, I will say they are your second best friend, once you get the feeling for the rope dart, that one will be your best friend for sure :)

And use trinkets! Play around with them too.

Soon as you get the 1st level of pirate hunters after you, just use that 1st brig to lower your wanted level. It's a really easy ship to take out and if you have Blackbeard's trinket you can end the fight with the swivel guns

I had multiple islands gold before I even got to the blowdart gun I don’t care if it takes hours. This game is fun. It also means more. Loot I already have the pistol swords and another set of legendary swords from the Deluxe Edition alongside a legendary pistol that never runs out of ammo as long as I remain out of sight

Cant agree with #1. Exploring the map early is fantastic. The challenge os what makes it fun. Plus you get TONS of reales to upgrade the Jackdaw with and make the story ship missions easier.

Big mistake(s) i tend to make are passing up on trophies the first opportunity i can get them. It took me forever to get the "Unsinkable" trophy because even though you ride into stormy weather, it doesn't necessarily guarantee that you'll be hit by a rogue wave.

Thanks I didn't know I had to dive to get schematic I got armor diagram but didn't know, my ship upgrades are basically done after looting all those diagrams
