Wendigoon has gone on record to say he fucking hates that the term "goon" has changed since he made his channel

Fun fact; harlan voices AM in the video game so no-one could fuck it up

7:47 I have no Audio and i must Stream.

9:54 Let it be known that if this man were alive TODAY, there's no doubt he would try and sue Glitch and TADC.

According to Harlan Ellison himself, he not only, jokingly, described the pornographic story he was going to write, he was reciting portions of it in the character voices when Roy overheard him and immediately had him fired.

If you want to watch more Wendigoon content I can’t recommend his video on mother horse eyes enough. It’s a series he first started on his podcast but he loved it so much he had to make a video. While it’s on the longer side it’s totally worth it and is maybe one of the most well written stories I’ve ever listened to

Who the f starts a conversation like that I just sat down 😟

I've come to realize from this video that Caine wasn't based on AM. He's based on Ellison. XD

Honestly this story is one of the classic examples of what birthed the trope of the malicious AI. For context this story was released in 67 and 2001 a space Odyssey came out in 68.  In two years we had the creations of two of the most iconic EVIL AI characters and I feel without either of these we wouldn’t have skynet or the machines in the matrix or any other of our modern day Ai Villian characters

46:02 The worst thing AM could do to Ted was make him a reflection of AM

To sacrifice yourself, by being the last man standing is so bizarre.

I knew a bit about this story before watching tadc and when zooble said "the only thing holding caine back is the fact that he likes us" and my mind went yeah if caine hated you he'd be AM. then ep 8 came out and i was like "i dont like being right"
(For a small bit of context i mean no disrespect to either character caine is actually my favorite character from the amazing digital circus bc i relate to him in the way i interpret him. To me caine is like a burnt out gifted kid who only saw their value in their work like i was like when i was younger. And AM is a really well written character imo. I just related to two in my mind bc i really like ai characters who are well written like they are)

It’s always so funny to see others read into the inspiration and realizing how more fucked up it is. Like, yep, this was the story that the guy; Harlan Ellison, wrote on a full one-nighter

Alicia: "I know I'm judgmental and need to be less judgmental"
Alicia to Ted: "OKAY YOU JUDGMENTAL BITCH!"
xD I mean she right but it made me laugh

The exact description is "...and organ fit for a horse."

12:07 what he doesn’t mention is that Harlan shows up again in the finale of Mystery Incorporated as the only other person other than the main characters who remembers the previous timeline after everything was reset, and the only explanation he gives as to how is that he writes a lot of science fiction.

Quick note on him accusing Terminator from copying his shorts story, a movie called 'Future Cop', which was the predecessor to Robo Cop, was also accused of copying one of Harlan Ellison's stories, and to this day it is pretty much the only major case of an author winning a plagiarism case in entertainment.

As far as I can tell, each of the TADC characters parallels one from IHNM&IMS:
Jax-Ted
Ellen-Ragatha
Kinger-Benny
Gangle-Gorrister
Zooble-Nimdok
with Pomni acting as audience surrogate.

Wendigoon describing AM's hate immediately brought to mind Sentient by Nevermore. Now I wonder if that was their inspiration. Highly recommend that song to anyone who likes metal.

His second channel. Wendigang, has a video on the death of the american chestnut. It's super informative and tragic.
