Over the past year, I’ve been on a journey of decluttering and refining my tarot collection, reducing what was once nearly 1,200 decks down to something far more intentional.
It really got me thinking… which decks could I truly never part with?
In this video, I’m sharing 10 tarot decks that have earned a permanent place in my collection. These aren’t necessarily my most beautiful decks, or even my all-time favourites. Instead, these are the ones I reach for time and time again, my workhorses, the decks that have proven themselves through use, connection, and experience.
Each one holds meaning, memories, and a unique voice that continues to support my practice. Together, they represent different aspects of how I work with tarot, from deep symbolism and history to intuition and storytelling.
These are, quite simply, my decks for life.

One thing I would really appreciate is having the names of the decks listed somewhere as well. Since some of them are shown without their boxes, I don’t always catch the titles. It would be great if you could include them in the comments or the video description.

I love how you spoke about these decks as being part of your journey. Even thinking about it that way, I think most of my permanent decks would be ones from the beginning of my journey. Robin Wood, Morgan Greer, the Aquarian decks are all decks I still use often. I do have an odd choice that would probably not be on any body else's list, the Gummy Bear tarot. In the later years of my teaching, I would pull out that deck as an example of what I thought a good deck should contain when picking one out. The store I taught through had problems keeping that deck in and the owner would always stock up when I had a beginner class coming up. Silly I know, but to this day if I am reading for someone nervous to get a reading it's one I pick up. I still love and use the Japaridze deck, which I believe I learned about from you. That is six decks of the top of my head that will always be part of my collection. To pick out four more I would need to browse my tarot room.
