I’m Nia – an artist in her late fifties – and just a few months ago, I started this YouTube channel. For so long, I thought it might be too late… but I’ve learned that it’s never too late to begin again.

A heartfelt reflection on what it means to begin again — to follow a long-silent dream and rediscover your own light.
This episode was filmed in a beautiful 300-year-old farmhouse that carries the story of strong women, resilience, and creative freedom.

Watching this morning after many thoughts of despair with all that’s going on with the United States government. I’m 74 years old, single retired military, nurse, and nutritionist, mother of two sons living in northwest Arkansas in a lovely small town called Eureka Springs. Yet I woke up this morning, feeling helpless and unimportant. And I happen to cross your channel and not knowing what to expect; You relaxed me with your calm voice and supporting thoughts. And I thank you for that 🙏🏻

I am leaving my 60th decade next year and it has taken the better part of 5 years to finally reach where you, Nia, have arrived. I do not have a ‘family’ and my elders have left this realm already. I have a sibling but he lives far away so I am my sole responsibility. And yet, it has taken me this long to finally see my worth, my hopes and dreams and feel confident in who I am and where I am in my life. I promised my dear Mother on her deathbed I would love a beautiful life and it took me 5 years but I am beginning again. No regrets. My time is now. Ladies here, it’s our time. Embrace it. Own it! I could have never imagined, just four months ago, that I would get to know you in person — and now, four months later, you are here in my guesthouse Annas barn, and we’re working together on your business. What an incredible gift! It’s amazing what YouTube can make possible.

What a wonderful timing!!! I have been unemployed for more than 1 year. Yesterday I was denied a corporate job that smelled of stress and desperation and after the first initial disappointment I realised I was free!!! That I had to stop trying to go back to a stressful job with set hours and a boss. I can be free and pursue painting and art that are my true loves. I have some savings that can carry me carefully into my retirement and if I go back to work will be to to something I enjoy. God wants happiness for us and I want happiness for myself. For the first time in my life I feel free. I feel free to live the life I want doing what a love. I will continue my painting classes with joy and gratitude. Thank you for your wonderful video. It has reinforced the feeling which I woke up this morning ❤

How fortunate and serendipitous that I found your channel today of all days. I am 58yrs old retired nurse , single parent of a daughter now married and a carer for my elderly parents who need more and more of me each day. I’m not sure what is left of ‘ me’ anymore as I’m pulled this way and that by responsibility for others. I’m running out of time for me as my duty to care for my parents full time draws near so Yesterday I decided out of the blue to enrol in art classes.
I told the tutor I can’t even draw a circle, she responded “ I will teach you” . Wow that response that I’m not too old to learn and I will be in a class of others probably around my age to learn together to express ourselves in colour, design, water colour and oil paint. I start in January and have never been so excited to start something totally new. Your journal you filmed gave me goosebumps at the thought I too will for the first time have my own journal to express my thoughts and feelings. Anna’s barn is a magical place and I’m sure her presence will help and support you. Thank you for your video and sharing your story with us all. Very best wishes from Devon in the UK.

So glad to meet you, Nia. You speak to me in so many ways, and on so many levels. The universe spoke to me in my 77th year in the same way as it did you. I hope to join your universe in a few months. The universe also showed me the significance of this year of my life, so I know that I am supposed to embark on my self-reflective journey before I celebrate the next year of my life. I will continue to visit you for inspiration as I set my purpose to pen and paper.
