The idea of Percy being an engine of stolen parts is a unique take on Percy’s origins; considering in canon Percy is a whole different beast when it comes to pinning down an actual concrete basis, so the context of Percy being built up of entirely stolen parts weirdly doesn’t sound too out of the ordinary for TTTE. I also like how the engines at the sheds said no when Percy suggested he’d turn himself in, that’s really sweet

So we went from the godly purple 0-4-0 to the green caterpillar, this man just keeps on giving.

I love all the engines just collectively going "HELL NO!" at the mere thought that Percy could just surrender himself.

Engines: "You can pry our little green caterpillar from our cold rusted buffers!"

"Percy must go into hiding"
Now THAT is some Sir Topham Hatt the First levels of Shady! I LOVE IT!

“Percy must go into hiding.”
That is such a wild sentence! But what a brilliant start to this saga! Using the fact that Percy is just a hodgepodge of parts from different builders like Peckett, Avonside, and so on is such a fun idea! Can’t wait to see where you take this idea!

I love how their top hat refers to his meeting with the engines as a family meeting. Really shows how much he cares for them.

This is gonna go platinum in the fandom

Percy being built of mostly stolen parts? Ok no joke I’d expect this from maybe Henry, or someone similar, but PERCY?! Oh my god, that literally is BRILLIANT! He’s quite literally the most kit bashed looking engine of the famous 11, and of course it makes so much sense if he was illegally built by someone who swindled everyone to do it! This is gonna be a fun one.

I love this.  Percy is such an oddball of mishmashed parts, being thrown together from whatever someone could get their hands on is a believable story - a bit dubious that EVERY single part was stolen, but not impossible considering his unknown origins.

I feel like the "Statue of Limitations" thing Duck mentioned will be brought up later on... Maybe Percy will wind up being discovered and will have to outrun the clock near the end of the story, and when he barely makes it, he gives everyone a speech about how he's more than a bunch of stolen parts and how no matter what he's made of, he's still a hardworking and really useful engine.

Here for when it’s right out of the gate, and this is bound to be an interesting multi-parter like George Goes Nuclear

The chips are down and the stakes are up! I love how you've toyed around with the idea of Percy's ambiguous origins and spinned it into a story and fate which seemingly has caught up to Percy after all this time. I have faith in how this story will end but I have no idea what or how we're doing to get there. I also just realized this might be a long story like Web of Lies rather than being a four part audiobook because it's made by you. Eitherway I look forward to the future installations!

Why do I have a feeling that hiding Percy is not going to go as planned....

Workman 1: Where is Percy?
Workman 2: I don't know.

Meanwhile, in a barn in Cregwir.
Percy: I'm scared.

The True Story of Nelson "Percy" Avonside

"Percy must go into hiding."
I'm genuinely so exited to see what happens next story 😳

I just finished reading the other stories in this ‘book’ and I cannot get over how beautifully you write for these characters and this world. I love how much attention to detail and care you have for the world building of this series and am awe struck at how much untapped story potential you’re able to bring out with each instalment! 11/10 thank you for being the phenomenal writer you are. 🎉

Percy being made up of stolen parts is fascinating. I cant wait to see how this plays out
