That legislation is highly unlikely to go unchallenged. Retrospective law is exceptionally rare in the UK and there needs to be a compelling public interest. As the government don’t have any data on motorcycle emissions vs all vehicles, they couldn’t really defend any action.

Mag put the questionnaire consultation out last week, got my views made, for what difference it will make.
Changed and tuned my bike in 2023, for more lower end grunt for heavy laden touring, however “cat” still deployed.
It’s nothing to do with emissions, just another “lever” to get private mobility off the road along with lefty councillors pushing LTN’s, ULEZ zones.

Surrons have been the weapon of choice for drug runners and other scrotes for years. You see them going through towns through red lights at 50mph all the time. They are therefore "desirable" and it's well known for gangs to ambush you, knock you off and nick the bike. I've always fancied one but living in Britain today, no chance.

Signed up with them based on your recommendation a few years back. We enjoyed every moment of the tour. Adrian is a great guy. His tour guides, Federico and Ismael (if they are still working with him) were awesome.

If that exhaust ban goes ahead, hundreds of jobs will go at mod exhaust manufacturers. Government is supposed to protect, and create jobs, not terminate them. Burnham & Co. are incredibly inept.

Tuscany is a great place to tour, I rode down there on the mighty Z900RS back in June, sitting in a cafe in Lucca on a sunny day drinking a Espresso whilst eating a pastry is hard to beat.
The changing of the exhaust issue is something that MAG have been challenging, but they are quite a small pressure group and not many motorcyclists can be bothered to pay the £30 a year membership or even watch their YouTube channel to support them

Interesting episode. With regard to that awful legislation, I think it was intentional we didn't hear about it & it makes the news after the "consultation" has finished. It's very disappointing to hear with little to no evidence they're going to try & push this through next year. However, it will have a massive impact on the aftermarket parts & remapping businesses of which there are many. When the general public actually realises what's going on, for cars & bikes, they'll be a huge outcry. It will have a very significant negative economic impact too which I doubt the government will want so I'm hopeful, possibly naively, that it won't be enforced as they're proposing or retrospectively. Also as an aside, they're not going to have a clue if you've remapped your ECU or not. They definitely haven't been checking the A2 power restrictions so I'm not overly concerned about the remapping side of things regardless tbh.
