The only rice I eat is Jasmine, it's the best by far. But it's more expensive and sometimes sold out in store.

One of my favorite meals is Jasmine rice and black beans, sometimes with andouille sausage. I cook it all like a one-pot dish, putting it all in the rice cooker. 1.5 cups rice (rinsed until water isn't cloudy), then appropriate amount of water that the rice cooker needs, and then add cumin, chili powder, black pepper in equal amounts "eyeballing it" (1 Tbsp?), a little bit of cayenne or hot pepper flakes, ~1 tsp salt. Mix together so spices cover the rice when cooked, and don't clump. Empty the can of beans on top, do not mix. Add andouille sausage on top (chopped into smaller pieces), I cut one package in half and save the other half for later.

The secret to making it really good though is light olive oil, or extra light olive oil. Not the healthiest but it really compliments the flavor of Jasmine rice giving it a light buttery taste, it makes it tastes SO much better. I add it after it's done cooking. You want to add enough so the rice isn't dry but not so much that it gets extremely oily. (If that makes sense)

Awesome cooking stream! nailed the new recipe! would like to see what other recipes you can challenge yourself with!
