The Group A era of the Australian Touring Car Championship in 1990 at Mallala in south Australia saw the debut of 'Godzilla' - the Nissan GTR.
Ushering in a real rival to the omni-present, all-conquering Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500, this Japanese contender would make waves in coming years. Also present are the crowd favourite Holden Commodores, upholding the cherished V8 flag.
Interestingly, the Nissan team put Mark Skaife into the new GTR and kept veteran (and championship contender) Jim Richards in the older GTS-R for this round.

That meeting Brock had brake issues, pumping up the pedal on the straights. I had the same problem with my Sports Sedan that same meeting.
Skaife is the Nissan Patrol doing some off roading!
The Ford Sierra's had very good power from a 2ltr turbo rear drive only
The Holden Commodore's V8 NA ( no turbo ) rear drive.
