I am a grown man, but during the scene where Danny gives Solomon the diamond and tells him to take his son and get on the plane I had tears rolling down my face. What a great scene and what a great movie. DeCaprio's best performance.

I am so happy that Leo did a movie on one of the most unappreciated countries in Africa Sierra Leone where my family originates from I'm glad that it has given at least a little light to my country

This movie NEEDS a prequel exploring Danny Archer's backstory!!!!!!! What is the introduction song?

I´m not African, but I think I feel it the same way like you. For me, he was Danny Archer from the first to the last second of the movie. I didn´t see Leo in his character. Actually the best actor for this role.

Not only is he a great actor, he also seems like a pretty cool down-to-earth kind of guy.

The movie was freaking awesome. Not only did it feature amazing acting, a captivating story line, and a healthy dose of action it was also superbly accurate in touching upon a myriad of intertwining regional ethnic and political issues. Overall, the history that the movie described and the origins of that history was superbly well researched.

The Departed was his best film of 2006, but his best performance was this one. And you're right, both Leo and Djimon should have got their oscars. Especially Djimon, because he stole the show everytime he was on-screen.
