🥊 FIGHT DESCRIPTION:

In one of boxing’s most thrilling trilogies, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao of General Santos City, Philippines, faced Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez of Mexico City, Mexico, for the third time on November 12, 2011, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Both men entered the ring determined to settle their long-running rivalry. From the opening bell, Marquez displayed sharp counterpunching and precise timing, landing crisp right hands each time Pacquiao tried to close the distance. Pacquiao, relying on his speed and relentless combinations, pushed the pace and tried to overwhelm Marquez with flurries of punches.

The fight was a tactical and high-level chess match, with Marquez effectively countering Pacquiao’s aggression and many believing he had done enough to win. Pacquiao, however, finished strong in the later rounds, pressing the action and leaving a lasting impression on the judges.

After twelve fiercely contested rounds, Pacquiao was awarded a majority decision victory with scores of 114–114, 115–113, and 116–112, retaining his WBO welterweight title. The result sparked debate among fans and analysts worldwide, with many calling for a fourth encounter—which would ultimately take place the following year.
