This is when FOOTBALL was FOOTBALL...

That 2002 Bucs defense is one of a kind with those 4 HOFS at each respective position:

1 Defensive Linemen
1 Linebacker
1 Safety
1 Cornerback

Sapp vs Favre is classic late 90s.  LOVED that matchup!

My NY Jets had two first round picks in the 1995.  We passed on Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks.

Sapp. Brooks. Lynch. Barber. That was one hell of a defense!!

3 layer HOF defense was awesome. so happy when they won the SB. Sad they didn't keep it rolling beyond the regular season.

Bro look athletic af in the opening! As far as build I think that’s what a DT should look like. 🔥🔥

The Bucs will even tell you that they got lucky to get Sapp. He fell to them cause of false allegations and that chip turned a phenomenal player into a HoFer.

Thank you for this post! This was a joy to watch. Love, love, love Warren Sapp's football accomplishments.🥰

Not going to lie the old logo with the dagger in his mouth went hard as hell.

That 97-02 Tampa 2 defense was the best defense i ever saw. They shut down arguably the greatest offense in history..."The greatest show on turf". Held them to 11 points in one game, when they we're averaging 30 something points a game. And the Rams barely beat them in 99 thanks to the refs making a stupid call on a catch that was good.

Warren was an absolute monster, I knew so many people in my high school that had a Sapp jersey, and  it wasn't in Florida.

1995: The Bucs didn't expected to get Sapp at pick 12, but they did.
2026: The Bucs didn't expected to get Bain, at pick 15, but they did.
Let's see whether Bain can make the same impact as Sapp (I know it's a tall task to ask).

This is when I became a fan of the Bucs. Seeing them win Super Bowl 37 solidified my fandom forever.

Life long Tampa resident.  Season ticket holder from 1976 to 2017.  Despite the Buccaneer organization driving me away from being a football fan, this team, the 2002 Bucs bring all the emotions that the game was supposed to bring.   Magical season for the Bucs and all of us fans who were there from the beginning.

Its criminal that jon gruden isnt coaching a nfl team

Born and raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin. It was 3 people I knew would give us hell. Moss, Sanders & Sapp. Yep.

Warren, even at his end had 10 sacks for my Raiders..... that just goes to show how good he was

This team and this staff are why I love football. I remember following this season in the 8th grade. Only name I didn’t hear was Joe Jurevicius. That reviving core was also cold and Rhonda Barber, John Lynch, Derrick Brooks, and the Man of the Hour Warren Sapp brought me to this team! I love it! I watched thethe Eagles and DeSean Jackson and became an Eagles fan and a Player/Coach Fan, instead of a team fan.

The old Bucs colors were the best.
