　Located in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, Karasawa Cirque is one of Japan’s most famous glacial cirques.
■ What is a “Cirque”?
　It’s a bowl-shaped valley carved out by glaciers, resembling a scoop taken from the mountainside.

★ Quick Tips from This Trip ★
・Wear shoes you’re used to—even low-cut ones are okay.
　※ To prevent blisters, use band-aids or tape in advance on potential hotspots.
・Trekking poles are a must for beginners.
・If you're not going beyond the tent site, a helmet is not necessary.
・Budget tents and sleeping bags were fine, but large family/camping tents are not suitable.
　※ You can't use stakes, so bring ropes to secure your tent.
・The ground is rocky—an air mattress is essential.
・For nighttime cold: ultralight down jacket + thermal tights + 3 body warmers kept me warm enough to sleep.
・You can refill water along the way.
・Bring plenty of ¥1,000 and ¥100 coins.
　Large bills are not accepted at toilets (¥100 per use) or the parking lot.
・Toilet fee is included in the camping fee.
