A girl is born on a bare drifting island — and before her own birth-cord is cut, she is already helping her twin brother into the world. This is the story of Artemis and Apollo, told slowly, for sleep.

Every rooted shore in the ancient Greek world turned Leto away, too afraid of Hera's anger to shelter her. Only one place said yes: Delos, a bare rock that owned nothing, and so had nothing left to fear. From that one night came two gods who would grow up entirely unlike each other — a huntress who kept to the wild forests, and a god of music and light who filled temples with song — and who, despite everything, never stopped being brother and sister. This Greek mythology sleep story follows their birth, their gifts, their mother's honor defended, a friendship that changed everything, and a grief that placed a hunter among the stars.

There is no test here, and nowhere you need to be. If you drift off before the island's story is finished, that is exactly how it is meant to be heard.
